Sometimes after a home inspection you may see in your report “Recommend evaluation by an asbestos professional.” But what does an asbestos professional do?
Asbestos professionals have been trained to deal with asbestos material, and the kind of professional you get will depend on the kind of product to be looked at and how the problem can be corrected. While you can hire a general asbestos contractor, it’s best to hire a professional asbestos contractor to handle certain products.
What do they do? They carry out inspections, take samples of materials suspected of containing asbestos, look over the area and tell you what corrections are necessary to fix the problem along with the people who are qualified to correct them.
Unless the material is problematic, no samples are usually taken from good material. Professional abatement contractors will fix and remove the asbestos material.
